Who let the strings out?
Founded in 2001 by the late private equity entrepreneur Warren Hellman, and combining an A-list of acoustic musicians and no admission (thanks Warren!) Hardly Strictly is a major musical event! More than a half million folks attend during the three day weekend.
The six stages on the western side of Golden Gate Park - surrounding Speedway Meadow - spread the crowds out a bit, but moving is slow... at best. And putting a blanket down is an early-morning exercise.
Getting to and from the event is best done via Muni (5 Fulton) or bicycle - parking nearby will be expensive without extraordinary luck :)
