Puerto Alegre

Margaritas and a lively Alegre atmosphere put the sparkle on large tasty Mexican dishes a stone's throw from the busiest corner in the Mission (16th and Valencia) and next to Blondie's.  There are (many) cheaper Mexican options around - eg, Pancho Villa, Taqueria Cancun, El Farolito, El Metate and the Tamale Lady - but many fewer restaurants, Tommy's (similarly old-school), Nopalito and Colibrí (both modern) are notable exceptions.
